FAQs

Who's invited?

All 2024 core members as well as alumni of Fit For Service who have attended a signature FFS event (like a core summit, a Full Temple Reset retreat, the Road to Union, or Arkadia) are invited to this event. Current and alumni members of FFS may bring their significant other and their children as guests.

We know how members have wanted to share the feeling of FFS with their families. And we want to strengthen the fabric of our community by allowing our families to get to know each other. So, we are inviting current and alumni members to bring their significant other and their children as guests.

Can I bring my friend?

No. Additional guests (beyond significant others and children) are not invited at this time to preserve the integrity of the container as an FFS member and alumni event.

How much does it cost?

To register for the event, please purchase your ticket. Tickets include access to all of the weekend’s events as well as five meals.

  • Adult Early Bird Ticket (January 20-February 10): $333

  • Adult Ticket: $399

  • Adult Ticket + Silver Sponsorship: $444

  • Adult Ticket + Gold Sponsorship: $555

  • Youth Ticket (0-5 years old): $0

  • Youth Ticket (6-13): $75

  • Youth Ticket (14-17): $125

The per person cost of the event is ~$399 per adult. We will not turn anyone away if the cost of the ticket is prohibitive to your attendance. Therefore, we are relying on some Silver and Gold Sponsorships to contribute to the costs of folks who cannot pay the full ticket price and to cover early bird tickets.  Sponsorships also help to cover the cost of materials for the kids programming activities.

If the cost of the ticket is a barrier to your attendance, reach out to Sarah Sullivan to arrange a discounted rate or a ticket waiver. No one will be turned away if the cost of the ticket is prohibitive to your attendance.

Who is organizing this event and how is it funded?

A volunteer planning committee made of current and alumni members of FFS are joining forces to put on this event!  The event is powered entirely by personal donations and ticket prices.  Sarah Sullivan’s family is donating many of the venues, and the Planning Committee is donating 100% of their time to keep prices very low and make this weekend as accessible as possible. The ticket price covers the hard costs of food and rentals to make this event possible.

What is expected of me during the event and how can I help?

The spirit of this event is service to our community.  We ask everyone involved in this event to help pitch in to create a warm, welcoming, transformative experience for all involved.  To keep prices low, we are not hiring much support staff for this event. We ask that all attendees commit to 1-2 hours of volunteering throughout the event whether by helping clear tables after meals, helping set up before a workshop, assisting with children, or helping to prep in the kitchen.  We hope everyone will come with a spirit of:  How can I pitch in?

Who is preparing the meals?  What about dietary restrictions?

We are proud to offer five meals during the weekend.  FFS’s beloved Flavor Fairies are generously preparing some of the meals over the weekend. Kye Peven is leading the kitchen on other meals. And remaining meals will be provided by local restaurants.

All meals will be gluten free and dairy free.  All meals will have a vegan option, and most of the meals will have a meat option.  If you have a significant food allergy, you may reach out to Sarah Sullivan to let her know and see what we can do. In those cases, you may want to bring supplementary snacks.

What is Winthrop? Where is it?

Winthrop is a walkable, intentional community founded in 2000 by Sarah Sullivan’s family. Events on Friday and Saturday will take place at various venues at Winthrop.

Winthrop is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Tampa, and a 25-35 minute drive from TPA airport. Winthrop is technically located in Riverview, Florida. Use this address to navigate to Winthrop. 11349 Bloomingdale Ave, Riverview, FL 33578

Into which airport should I fly?

We recommend flying to Tampa International Airport (TPA).

TPA is about 25-35 minutes from Winthrop, which is where the programming will be on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

On Saturday, we will drive one-hour from Winthrop to a private beach on Longboat Key (near Sarasota). Our meet-up officially ends on Sunday night.

If you choose to spend additional time in Sarasota after the event concludes or fly out on Saturday at the beach, the nearest airport is Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ).

When should I arrive and depart?

The meet-up kicks-off on Thursday afternoon, March 28th, at Winthrop. It concludes on Sunday afternoon, March 31st, at Winthrop.

To attend all of the events, we recommend arriving to TPA by Thursday early afternoon, March 28th, and to depart from TPA on the evening of Sunday, March 31st.

Many people will choose to arrive Wednesday, March 27th, and stay until Monday, April 1.

Where should I stay?

As with FFS summits and events, we recommend coordinating with other FFS members on lodging. Use the private WhatsApp group to coordinate with other attendees.

Look for Airbnbs and Vrbos in proximity to Winthrop. You might find Airbnbs or Vrbos in Riverview, Brandon, Valrico, Tampa, or Apollo Beach. Use this address for Winthrop: 11349 Bloomingdale Ave, Riverview, FL 33578

There are two hotels within a mile of Winthrop. They are:

  • Hilton Garden Inn Tampa/Riverview/Brandon located at 4328 Garden Vista Dr, Riverview, FL 33578

  • Uptown Suites located at 9321 Everhart Rd, Riverview, FL 33578

Do I need a car?

While Lyfts and Ubers are available, you will likely want access to a car to get to/from the airport, to/from your lodging, to get breakfasts, and to/from Longboat Key.

On Saturday, we will be meeting at a private beach on Longboat Key, which is about a 1-hour drive from Winthrop. You will want to have access to a car for this drive.

We recommend that attendees coordinate rides with each other.

Once you arrive to the venues each day (on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), everything during the day is walkable and you will not need a car to get to the various workshops throughout the day.

What should I bring?

Items for the altar, a water bottle, and beach items such as a swimsuit, towel, games, or anything else your heart may desire. The highest expression of yourself.

Are there any pre or post meet-up events?

Watch this space. We will update here as pre and post meet-up events get scheduled by members.

How do I stay up-to-date about the meet-up?

Be sure to join the private WhatsApp group for this event!
